Addie's Flamingo Addie's Flamingo
8” diameter

I created the look of the flamingo’s feathers by using a wispy pink and white opaque glass, cutting it so the pattern went in the direction of the feathers. The background is an iridescent milky glass with the texture of grass blowing in the wind.

Archways Archways
16-1/2” x 20-1/2”

I designed this piece incorporating the typical straight lines of art deco along with curves and circles to form an archway. I used a simple color combination of golden amber rolled glass, olive green rolled glass, brown and amber wispy glass, and a firery red wispy glass to form the archways. The background glass is a clear seed glass with small air bubbles in it.

Baubles Baubles
14” x 24”

This is the custom stained glass window I designed for the winner of the silent auction for the 2010 Chefs for Kids, Inc. Annual Fundraiser. The generous donor that won the auction wanted an abstract design to fit into her décor. I noticed she had a lot of art that had circles with shades of reds, greens, turquoises, and blues and thought I should tie into her existing art pieces. With that in mind, I designed, “Baubles”, multiple circles in colors of wispy dark red and wispy red/orange, wispy turquoise/white and turquoise/clear, and wispy green and wispy green/white opalescent glass with a cobalt blue background. Almost looking like a strand of round beads.

Brushes Brushes
8-1/2” x 12-1/2”

Wanting to design a special piece for fellow artists, friends of mine that have chosen decorative painting as their favorite art form, I started with the type of brushes that they use, then put them into a wispy teal and fiery red cup to match the colors in their painting studio so it made this piece even more personal. The background color is a wispy white with light amber as if it is the canvas they are about to paint.

Butterfly & Daisy Butterfly & Daisy
12” x 12”

A butterfly fluttering around a daisy was a done as a memorial piece for my client’s mother who recently passed away. Her mother loved sitting in her garden watching the butterflies playing in the air near her daisies. The butterfly is a wispy yellow/white glass that I first cut the entire wing, then cut it further into it’s sections so that the pattern of the glass looked like the pattern in a butterfly’s wing. Then added a bit of wispy orange/white glass for the centers. The daisy is made with a wispy white and bright yellow glass. The background glass is a clear wavy glass that looks as if the breeze is blowing.

Compass Compass
16-1/2” x 20-1/2”

I designed this piece incorporating the typical straight lines of art deco along with circles to form a compass shape towards the top. I used a simple color combination of golden amber rolled glass, olive green rolled glass, brown and amber wispy glass, and a fiery red wispy glass to form the archways. The background glass is a clear seed glass with small air bubbles in it.

Falling Leaf Falling Leaf
10-1/2” x 18-1/2”

While sitting on my patio, I noticed a leaf that fell from the neighbor’s tree, and e.e. cummings’ poem “1 (a…(a leaf falls on loneliness)” came to mind.

I created this piece using various textured clear glass and leaving the center square free of glass. The only color is that of the leaf, which I did in two shades of green to give the illusion of it turning in upon itself as it falls.

Falling Autumn Leaf Falling Autumn Leaf
8” Diameter

A seasonal fall version of “Falling Leaf”. The wispy orange/brown/yellow glass captures the colors of an autumn leaf falling to the ground. The clear “baroque” wavy glass makes it look like you can see the movement of the leaf as it falls from the tree.

As you can see, almost any pattern can be done in other colors as well as other shaped pieces. The round pieces can be put into a stand or rings can be added so it can be hung in a window.

Kokopelli Kokopelli
8-1/2” x 17”

Kokopelli is the Native American Fertility Deity. I designed this piece so that Kokopelli was done in a solid black opal glass with a fiery orange/yellow opal glass background. As if he's dancing in front of a roaring fire.

Red Red Rose Red Red Rose
11-1/2” x 22-1/2”

I created this piece using a deep red for the rose and two shades of green for the leaves and stem to give it some depth and a sky blue rolled glass for the edge. The background glass is a clear wavy glass that just adds a bit more texture to the design without taking away from the rose.

Rose & Daisy Intertwined Rose & Daisy Intertwined
17-1/2” x 17-1/2”

This stained glass panel was created for a wedding gift to a lovely young couple. The bride loves daisies and the groom loves roses. I wanted to show the two flowers intertwined to represent their joining together in marriage. The rose is a deep red with two shades of green for the stem and the daisy is a wispy white and bright yellow flower with a green stem. The back ground glass is a granite textured clear glass and the frame is a solid black glass.

Butterfly with Geode Wings Butterfly with Geode Wings - Geode Series
18-1/2” x 9-1/2”

The larger oblong shapes on the bottom wings are sister geodes slices (they were cut from the same geode within 1 slice of one another). They have shades of amber, blue and gray in them. To compliment the colors of these slices, I’ve selected semi-translucent and translucent opalescent colors in shades of amber and gray. The body of the butterfly is a dark amber/white translucent glass and the amber spots within the wings are amber glass globs. The antenna will be lead wire. This piece can be put in a stand or rings can be added so that it can be hung. Once this is decided the antenna will be added.

Geode in Half Disk Geode in Half Disk - Geode Series
8” Diameter

The larger oblong shape in the middle is a geode slice. It has a gray and brown outer ring with shades of blue and clear quartz crystal in the center. To compliment the colors in the geode slice, I’ve used a grey/white wispy translucent glass for the outer ring and a steel blue translucent waterglass for the inner ring. To make it almost appear as if the geode is floating in the center, I’ve almost surrounded the geode with a clear, “artique” glass.

This piece can be put in a stand or rings can be added so that it can be hung.

To compliment the colors in the geode slice, I’ve used a grey/white wispy translucent glass for the outer ring and a steel blue translucent waterglass for the inner ring. The larger oblong shape in the middle is a geode slice. It has a rust brown edge and a blue/amber center. In the middle of the slice there is a rough spot showing the crystals that were inside the geode. To compliment the colors in the geode slice, I’ve used a dark amber/white wispy translucent glass, a light amber/white wispy opalescent glass and a cobalt blue translucent waterglass. I’ve also added in four cobalt blue glass globs as shown as the smaller blue ovals in the pattern.

This piece can be put in a stand or rings can be added so that it can be hung.

The small irregular shape at the top of this piece is a geode slice. It has a rust brown edge an outer ring of dark amber, then a ring of amber/gray, then a center part of amber. This piece can be put in a stand or rings can be added so that it can be hung.

Sausage on a Fork Sausage on a Fork - Geode Series
8-1/2” x 11”

A fun piece that started as a joke. A friend wondered if I could do a “cheesy” window for a good friend of his, who he loved to grill with.

The “sausage” is an agate geode slice. The red, hot coals are red glass globs that reflect the light just right so they truly look like they are on fire. The outer part of the grill is black opaque glass where the inside is dark gray translucent glass, as if brightened by the hot coals. I used the lead lines to be the fork holding the sausage as well as the heat lines rising from the hot coals. The edge is a caramel opaque glass.

Moonset Behind Desert Mountains Moonset Behind Desert Mountains - Geode Series
8-1/2” x 11”

The moon is a beautiful bright amber agate geode slice. The sky is a deep nighttime blue with small bubbles that almost looks like a sky filled with stars. The mountains are black opaque glass to be in the shadow of the moon. The desert is a combination of amber rough rolled glass that looks like the sand dunes created by the desert breeze along with a piece of green and amber glass being the desert flora.

Geode 13 in Prairie Geode 13 in Prairie - Geode Series
6-1/2” x 10”

A beautiful geode slice with rings of ambers, creams and browns and a center of clear quartz, centered in a prairie style piece. I chose the frosted clear glass as the background to emphasize the crystallized center of the geode slice. The edge of the window is a caramel color opaque glass that matches the amber and cream rings of the geode slice. This piece looks like it could have been hanging in a window 100 years ago.

Going Green & Amber Going Green & Amber - Recycled Series
8” x 10-1/2”

Keeping with the times, I felt that I didn’t want to waste my leftover glass from other projects by just throwing it out, so I’ve recycled this glass by creating new pieces made from the leftovers of other projects.

This piece is done with shades of green, amber, and gray glass with various textures and patterns. I’ve also added amber glass globs for additional shape and texture.

Calla Lily Calla Lily Candle Stand

A fiery Mango Calla lily that matched the color of the bride’s bouquet along with the dark green of the leaves and an off-white opaque background, the color of the bride’s gown. A base was added so it was a freestanding piece with a candle on the base that lit up the window with a romantic glow. This made a stunning addition to the reception table when all six pieces were lit.
